FAQs

  • In some cases you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. I recommend reaching out to your insurance company to ask what type of out of network benefits you have in your plan. When calling your insurance company I recommend asking the following questions:

What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health services?

What percentage of out-of-network mental health services is covered by my insurance plan?

How much will I be reimbursed for a 55 minute therapy session (CPT code: 90837)?

    Is online therapy covered?

Are there specific forms that have to be filled out for reimbursement?

My provider will send me a superbill, how long do I have to submit that?

  • I am in network with BCBS of Massachusetts, Blue Cross Federal, Harvard Pilgrim, United Behavioral Health and Mass General Brigham Health Plan. I am considered out of network for any other insurance company.

  • Therapy sessions will be either weekly or bi-weekly for 55 minutes.

I always recommend to start out on a weekly basis, as those initial sessions are critical in your therapy journey. With that said, sometimes scheduling limits us.

I will always provide recommendations around increasing or decreasing sessions in order to meet your needs effectively.

  • No, therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I am only licensed to work with residents of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. You must live in either of these states in order for us to work together.

  • Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15 minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:

—You share more about why you are seeking therapy at this time

—I will tell you about my general approach as a therapist

—We can discuss logistics in terms of scheduling, insurance, rates, etc.

—I will answer any questions you may have

  • While reducing your anxiety or depression symptoms is a main priority in therapy, I am also a therapist that values you understanding yourself, as that will promote long lasting change. Therapy is a commitment and change does not happen over night. I often set expectations for length in treatment to be around 6 months, in order for you to see meaningful growth and change. However, you ultimately get to decide!

I have some clients that I see for 5-6 months and feel satisfied to terminate once their therapy goals are met. I also have other clients that I have met with for 3+ years as they have seen improvements and want to continue to have that support and space for introspection.

  • I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

If I’m unable to offer you a sliding scale spot, I’d be happy to offer referrals to trusted therapists in the area.

Please note, that if you utilize the sliding scale fee you are unable to submit these charges to insurance for reimbursement.
